An Aurora is seldom bright enough to see much colour,
but a regular 35 mm camera, on a tripod with an exposure of between 10-20 seconds will reveal a rainbow of colours.
The colour change can be caught over a number of pictures.

Video or motion pictures are not practical due to the length of the exposure required per frame.
The single 20 second film exposure shown here, using computer software can suggest the undulation that goes on during the phenomenon.
