Jack and Alice are going to set up a Summer abode in the Okanogan Valley B.C. very near the USA border, close to the town ofOsoyoos.
The air is the driest in Canada and the mountain a little higher. Jack and Alice intend to set up a Bed and Breakfast with telescopes for guest use and lectures available. Jack's retirement dream.

Summer TitleThe Town of Osoyoos
Osoyoos B.C.

Winter Title
Chiefland, Florida. You may have read about it in AmateurAstronomer Magazine. Eighty acres of farm land with clear horizons and very dark skies, site founded by Billy Dodd with Astronomy in mind.
The land has been subdivided into 5 acre lots and sold to amateur astronomers, except for the northern portion which is maintained by Mr. Dodd and family.
This area contains his home and also has a public area with Picnic tables, showers, bathrooms and plenty of electrical outlets. Charge, $5.00 per night donation, more is appreciated.
The northern sky has a small glow from nearby Chiefland, population 7000. The best part is the lack of mosquitoes, 10 - 20 per night would be a very bad night. This site is open 365 days a year.
This is the home site of theChiefland Astronomy Village. Frequent visitors are Tim Printy, Tom Clarke and many others. Jack Newton owns a lot in this site. He is my neighbor.
