My eighth night of imaging on the front porch in Oshawa. I tried to set up at dusk, but then cloud rolled in and covered most of the sky (including Polaris!). I was tired anyway, so I set the
alarm for 1am and went to bed. When I woke up, the sky was clear. The moon was due to go down shortly after 2am, leaving about 2½ hours of dark sky.
Tonight I imaged NGC 7479 in Pegasus and M76 in Perseus. It looks like 7479 will need a good 60 minutes of exposure, and M76 will need 20-30 minutes to get a real killer image. Still, the M76
image I got tonight is pretty nice...
| M76 |
14 minutes (28 x 30s) |
 |
| A not-bad M76 from the city... |
| NGC 7479 |
23 minutes (46 x 30s) |
 |
| This low surface brightness galaxy needs probably 60 minutes... |
