The sky had cleared by 3:30, so I set up and did NGC 253 and M42. It was actually too late in the night for 253 -- it was well past transit and only 17 degrees altitude when I imaged it. But it
was interesting, if only to test the limits of suburban imaging. M 42 just cleared the eaves of the house during twilight, so I experimented with it too. My focus was out on M42, but it was just a
test anyway. Next clear night I'll do both of these objects right!
