The sky had cleared by 3:30, so I set up and did NGC 253 and M42. It was actually too late in the night for 253 -- it was well past transit and only 17 degrees altitude when I imaged it. But it was interesting, if only to test the limits of suburban imaging. M 42 just cleared the eaves of the house during twilight, so I experimented with it too. My focus was out on M42, but it was just a test anyway. Next clear night I'll do both of these objects right!

NGC 253 20 minutes (40 x 30s)
NGC 253, 20 minutes
NGC 253 at 17 degrees altitude from Oshawa!

M 42 2½ minutes (5 x 30s)
M 42, 2.5 minutes
The focus is a bit off, but the colour is nice!
