| DO Draconis Does It Again! |
After just 14 months, DO Draconis has gone into outburst again (see my 1999 DO Draconis page). I was informed of this momentous event by AAVSO News Flash #698.
Of course, being November, Southern Ontario had been veiled in solid cloud for many days. There was no way I could have caught it (kudos to those who kept watch over it through full moon!).
Miraculously, on the night of Fr/Sa November 17/18 (and in direct contravention of all the weather forecasts) we had a clear sky! After watching some nice Leonid meteors (the LQ moon was sitting almost exactly on top of the radiant) I set up the scope and turned it on DO. Sure enough it was in outburst at magnitude 11.0(?).
After that it was cloudy for many days...
