Transit of Venus

I went up to the Home Depot parking lot at Taunton and Harmony since this is the highest point in Oshawa. The sun was just rising as I made it to the parking lot. With all the haze at the horizon I could see the transit naked eye -- an unforgettable sight!!! After observing for a while (and showing the transit to a passerby) I set up in the driveway and showed mom and dad the transit, then took some pictures by holding the digital camera up to the eyepiece. All in all it was a fantastic transit, the only disappointment being that I did not see any black drop effect at third contact.
