LOOSENING THE PIER

It was a bright, sunny day at the Old MacDonald Farm in August, 1991. Our neighbour, Burt Cronkwright came over with his two sons Robert and Joe to move my observatory to a new site in the "back 50."

Wrapping a chain around the pier, it was raised 10" (to the bottom of the floor) -- enough to loosen the concrete from the surrounding ground.
